Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

TGIF Again

BGWLBH had a nail appointment today, so I accompanied her into town.

I had 45 minutes to shop on my own and I purchased 3 items. Two linen tops and a cotton lacy hippy type top which could pass for a little dress too.

I bought the purple one … because in the shop it looked blue! I’m going to phone and ask her to put away the pink one and white one because they are so loose and comfy and cool and swishy to wear.

Apart from those items, I got a new art journal with a spiral spine because my other journal is falling apart as the pages detach through use.

I also bought two tubes of Matisse paint and we know to avoid Office Works for the next couple of weeks due to “back to school” traffic and crowds.

Ugh 😩

Harley was the recipient of 12 big meaty beef neck bones.

We had coffee at our favourite cafe and at the end of our day we had juice from our favourite juice bar.

We checked our lotto too and I was a bit of a winner with $50 for my back pocket.

By the time we got home, I was feeling pretty weary from staying up til 2am watching the Medvedev tennis match where he lost in five sets to Tien from the USA. So I lay on the couch watching tennis for the rest of the afternoon.

Adoring Husband cooked our chicken wings for dinner.

I watched Djokovic win in three sets and as I write this, the Aussie, Vukic, is playing the Brit, Jack Draper in a tight match. Vukic is winning two sets to one and it looks like the fourth will be a tie breaker.

So I’m off to lend my support.

Nite all.
