Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Big Dilemma

My whole evening has been a big dilemma!

The cricket was on one channel.

Kyrgios was on another channel.

Djokovic was on another channel.

Alcaraz was on another channel.

Kokkinakis was on another channel.

O’Connell was on another channel.

Aiava was on another channel.

I needed 8 screens on the wall, to watch all the things!

In the end, I chose the Djokovic match, and flipped to check the scores of Kyrgios and Kokkinakis.

I was surprised that Kyrgios stayed on court, given his stomach strain, but all credit to him, he knew the fans had waited a long time to see him play, so he saw out the match, losing in 3 sets.

Djokovic played a 19yr old American, Basavareddy, who wiped Novak off the court in the first set beating him 6-4. Basavareddy cramped up in the second set and Djokovic came back and won the next three sets. Basavareddy is an amazing player and I think he’ll be around for a long time.

Of the 11 Aussies who played today, nine of them have won through to the second round and one of them is still playing and into a fifth set. It’s been a very successful first round for the Aussies.

In the cricket, Sydney Thunder defeated Perth Scorchers by a lot.

Adoring Husband and I spent most of the morning in The Bay.

He dropped me off at Eli Waters and drove off to run his errands while I browsed the gift section of the newsagent, purchasing a couple of bracelets and a calendar for myself plus a gift for BGWLBH.

He appeared at my side while I was strolling through the supermarket.

It has been a few years since I could casually stroll through the supermarket with my trolley and enjoy the shopping experience. Usually I’m rushing through, grabbing what I need and finding the shortest queue at the checkout, knowing that either AH or BGWLBH was waiting for me.

So I grabbed what was still on my shopping list and we found a checkout. I followed up with a Farm Gate shop grabbing some fruit and veg, then some fresh seafood and fresh bread and then home.

Tonight’s dinner was fresh fish with sweet potato chips and potato chips and garden salad. I had a few chips, a plum and a dairy free ice cream.

I’ve been glued to the tennis ever since.

I’m very tired so I hope this match doesn’t last too much longer.

Nite all.
