Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Sportify

I started my free five day art course today.

Within 20 minutes, I scribble painted over my art and unsubscribed from the course.

The “course” consisted of five screen shots of the teacher’s progress through the painting. No instructions on colour mixing, shading, blending etc.

I couldn’t figure out how to make ‘turquoise’ out of these colours …

I tried mixing different colours together, but couldn’t create the bright turquoise that was in one of her screenshots.

I tried and failed. This was supposed to take 25 minutes to complete. It took me half of that time to attempt to mix ‘turquoise’.

I’m sure that experienced artists would know exactly how to mix it, but I am not one of them.

So back to square one and I will hunt down an artist that can teach me what I want to learn.

Adoring Husband and I investigated the price of a new Apple MacBook Pro. It’s a lot.

So I found my old one, which I haven’t used for over three years. I needed my password to sign in, so of course I spent 40 minutes searching for my password book, which I found in the darkest recesses of my wardrobe behind handbags, bulk coat hangers and bags of taxation paperwork.

According to Apple, it doesn’t even have value as a trade in and is only good for recycling.

This evening, I’ve researched iPads and their ability to edit raw images from my canon camera and it seems the iPad is capable of doing just that for almost half the price of a MacBook Pro.

Something to think about.

I also got to watch lots of tennis AND the cricket, so I am sated with sports viewing

I cooked duck breast with spicy orange sauce, last nights leftover mash and steamed green beans, carrot and zucchini for dinner.

More tennis tonight.

Now I need to sleep because it’s 1am!

Nite all.
