Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

MORE rain!

Adoring Husband emptied 120mm of rain out of the gauge this morning. That’s for two days.

We had a short, hard and heavy storm late this afternoon and at one stage the rain was horizontal!

The sunset was pretty spectacular, but I didn’t get pics.

I started my day the usual way, with a cup of tea, throwing the ball around the pool for Harley.

Because I’m participating in a free online painting course on Monday, I spent an hour sketching the pictures onto the canvases in preparation.

Mine are not on timber, like these, and the sketches are very basic to start, so it’ll be interesting to see what the painting instructions will be.

When I finished, I reheated my leftover pizza from last night and plonked myself on the couch to watch more of the Big Brother series that I started.

I switched between some tennis from the Australian Open and the Women’s One Day cricket match between the Aussies and England and tonight I’m switching between the tennis and the BBL cricket between Melbourne Stars and Melbourne Renegades. Stars are winning easily.

I’m in sporting heaven this month.

AH cooked lamb loin chops on the barbecue while I mashed sweet potato and potato, steamed some green beans and carrots and made a delicious gravy with my fresh chicken bone broth for dinner.

I’ve booked a day in the bay with AH tomorrow, so now it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
