Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Mid Year

I forgot to mention that on 28th June, my Mum, had she lived, would have turned 85. She’s been gone for 20 years now.

Crazy how time seems to fly by.

On Sunday night, I paid for a Gaia subscription. EOFY sale, down from over $1000 to $133 for 14 months. Gaia is a video and streaming service that focuses on mental and physical health, meditation techniques, different views on spirituality, Ayurveda,  yoga, diet, health and well-being and so much more.

Today, on Gaia, I watched a very interesting movie on the energy of water. Wow!

There’s lots of stuff from my fave, Joe Dispenza and I’ve started watching his series “Rewired” which explains the concept of rewiring your brain to stop past traumas from controlling your life and helping you create the life that you want. He is such an interesting and intelligent man.

It was a very wet and gloomy day. Perfect for staying inside and doing what I normally do on a bright and sunshiny day haha.

I made some apple and cinnamon muffins.

For dinner I made sausage rolls with turkey mince. I added finely chopped spinach, red onion, red capsicum, garlic, salt, pepper, toasted pine nuts, fresh chopped chillies, egg and a sprinkle of gf bread crumbs.

We played trivia until it was time for the 1% Club where I played beautifully until the final 1% question. I can usually get to the final question pretty easily but I’ve only been able to correctly answer the final question three times out of about 25 shows.

I am now watching Day 1 of Wimbledon and I need to get up early for meditation. Tomorrow will be a struggle for me, but of course, it’s all self inflicted.

Nite all.
