Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Let’s Go Shopping!

It was very cold this morning, which made it difficult to get out of bed.

I had turned off the tennis at a reasonable hour and set my alarm for 6am, but surprisingly, I woke at 5.30am!

The only match that I actually watched, was Di Minaur’s and he won easily.

So far, in round one, 23 seeded players have been knocked out of the competition. It’s the worst result in over 150 years of Wimbledon history! This might create a great opportunity for a lower seeded player (or even an UNseeded player) to steal victory! You never know!

It’s currently raining in London so the covers are on the courts and there is no play. I don’t know whether to set my alarm for midnight and try to catch some sleep while I can, OR save myself for tomorrow night when Djokovic is likely to play.

Decisions Decisions 🫤

Before I even left home, Harley’s exuberant tail wagging knocked a mason jar off a shelf and it shattered all over the floor. This set our departure back ten minutes while we cleaned up the mess. Adoring Husband finished the clean up with the vacuum cleaner.

I had a very pleasant day in The Bay browsing lots of shops.

Office Works was delightful, as always, and I found myself a cute Snoopy journal …

I visited the local craft store and bought a couple of gifts. A dress for Hazie and a hand made cot cover with puppy dog material for baby Dearden, who is due in November (my niece’s baby).

I got myself a couple of “over shoulder boulder holders” and some new lipstick.

Lotto tickets, seafood, bread, fruit n veg, groceries, meat, Harley food and other bits and pieces. A giant green juice from Su Jus topped off a pretty good day.

Harley was happy to see me return home and we cuddled on the couch for 20 minutes while AH unpacked the shopping.

We had play time and I made tacos for dinner. I had a fresh king prawn, avocado and red onion sandwich.

We all played trivia and were all in bed (not together) by 7.30pm.

AH has been obsessing over golf tournaments, so he watches that in his room. I, of course, am obsessing over Wimbledon in my room.

I’m actually feeling quite weary so it might be time for sleep.

Nite all.
