Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Get it? Got it? Good!

I have been a member of a couple of Parkinson’s Disease support groups in Facebook for some time.

This was posted today …

*** It’s so incredibly important that you exercise. Here’s why:

Parkinson’s is like an evil villain’s conveyor belt ever so slowly delivering the victim to his doom.

If the victim does not move, he will meet his end quickly. If he moves halfheartedly up the conveyor belt, he will delay his doom for a little while.

The only hope of surviving longer is to move as hard as you can against the flow and don’t ever stop.

Parkinson’s is relentless. You gotta get up and get moving! It will not wait for you. If you want to have any kind of a decent life, you have to exercise, even if it hurts or is difficult.

You will get stronger and recapture some of your lost energy, coordination and balance. The earlier you start, the more you will slow progression.

Do not surrender. There is hope for us 💪💜

It’s something that Adoring Husband’s professor discussed with him years ago, but these days, AH finds many excuses and reasons for not being regularly active. The effects are noticeable.

Today was meditation day. There were a couple of newbies in the class so there were no empty seats. It was also an emotional day with a few confessions and some tears shed. These moments always bring us closer.

Afterwards, I spent 3.5 hours sitting by the river with The Gypsy. There were a LOT of people out and about and it was difficult to find a free space to sit! Lots of dogs out walking with their owners too. By the time we left, there were tradies everywhere enjoying their lunches.

At home, I made lunch, caught up on last night’s Block episode and watched my quiz shows.

I took a spaghetti bolognese sauce out of the freezer for dinner.

It’s now almost 11pm and I’m looking forward to another night of sound sleep. 8.5 hours last night!

Nite all.
