Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

That’s Gold!

BGWLBH and I spent the day at the RSL Club in Hervey Bay attempting (without success) to win a golden ticket. She already has one and there is only the October draw left now. The BIG draw is in November, so I’m running out of time.

We arrived home a touch before 5pm and we were both starverated (that’s hungry) so it was straight to the kitchen where she prepared herself a pizza and I crumbed ten prawn cutlets and fried them.

I had crumbed, cooked and already eaten 3 of my cutlets by the time hers came out of the oven.

The NRL Preliminary final between Canberra Raiders and Cronulla Sharks was played tonight. I was the only one to tip the Sharks and in the end, they won easily. That made Adoring Husband very happy!

The AFL Preliminary final between Collingwood and Brisbane was played tonight and surprisingly, Brisbane won easily. That made Adoring Husband very sad.

Tonight I’m watching Round 3 of the France Open Golf and it’s almost midnight. I need to sleep.

Nite all.
