Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Reconnecting

My period of hibernation (3 yrs) needs to come to an end.

I’ve become disconnected from my community and my friends and last week, I decided to make some changes.

While I did need to isolate for a while, focus on some inner healing and practise the art of just “being”, the time has definitely come, to reconnect with my community.

I’m not sure in what capacity yet, but this week I’ve been out for six of the last seven days!

Tuesday was meditation.

Thursday was lunch with my art girls.

Friday was shopping with Adoring Husband.

Saturday was golden ticket day with BGWLBH.

Today was a birthday lunch with Mrs Bucket and nine other ladies, all but one, old friends from my past.

It was a pleasant afternoon catching up and the food was delicious. I enjoyed crispy skinned barramundi with chips and salad.

The first birthday party that I attended when we moved here, was Mrs Bucket’s 60th and today, she celebrated her 76th! That’s her front left.

AH picked me up at 3pm which gave me time to prep for dinner, play with Harley and settle in for the football.

Penrith Panthers annihilated Canterbury Bulldogs 46-26.

The game was disappointing.

Next week, Sharks play Storm in Melbourne and Broncos play Penrith in Brisbane. It’s quite possible that the Grand Final COULD end up being Adoring Husband’s Sharks against my Broncos!

It’s now after 11pm so it’s time for me to sleep.

Nite all.
