Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Relive via Replay

I slept poorly last night.

I’m not certain if it was because of the exciting footy game or if it was the food that I ate for dinner.

I ate ‘off limits’ food - potato salad and coleslaw - and even though it was only a dessert spoon full of each, it was enough to get my tummy rumbling for most of the night.

Lesson learned.

Reluctantly, I climbed out of bed at 9.30am, made my warm lemon water and took Harley out to play.

Now that the weather is warming up, I’m letting Harley dive into the pool after his ball, which he is loving.

The neighbour’s dogs on both sides of our house, have been barking incessantly. While one neighbour always wants to know if his dogs misbehave while he’s at work, and then tries to remedy the situation, our other neighbour does little to quiet her dogs, even though she is home all day.

When other neighbours complain, she has stated “dogs are allowed to bark you know”.

I beg to differ.

I made my breakfast and caught up on Sunday’s episode of The Block, and then decided to retreat to my bedroom for more writing.

I squeezed in about three hours of writing before being distracted by my afternoon quiz shows.

The pool guy interrupted us all this afternoon and had to do a bit of work on the pool that was beginning to grow algae on the back step. He hadn’t cleaned the filter for a while, so hopefully, with a few unwelcome chemicals and a clean filter, everything should get back to normal quickly.

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the replay of yesterday’s football game and quietly celebrated accordingly.

For dinner tonight, I cooked salted orange chicken with potato chips and green beans. I put yesterday’s salads out “just in case” they needed extra filling up.

Adoring Husband did some more yard work today. His knee seems to be on the improve.

BGWLBH did a solo trip into The Bay.

I’m looking forward to meditation tomorrow. All the golf is finished so I should be able to fall asleep early tonight and sleep soundly.

Nite all.
