Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Sporting Tragic

Hours upon hours of cricket has been the story of my life for weeks now.

The Ashes have been most enjoyable and the T20 series has been full of exciting record breaking games as well as crushing defeats.

I am in my element.

When the Ashes series finishes in early January, the tennis begins in the lead up to the Australian Open which starts at the end of January.

THEN the Winter Olympics are in February!

Straight after the Olympics, the 2026 NRL season begins.

I am the epitome of “couch potato” and loving it.

High on my priority list right now, is selecting my word for 2026, creating my vision board and putting some structure in my life.

It’s all been a bit haphazard with no routine, very little productivity and even less motivation or desire to do anything of value.

I want that to change in 2026.

Not exactly sure how I’m going to do that yet. I have some ideas though, so watch this space.

I would like to have lights out ready to sleep by 10pm because my current sleep pattern is from midnight onwards and then, even if I wake up early, I don’t want to get out of bed until after 9am.

So just for a start, my sleeping pattern definitely needs to change.

It’s now after 10pm haha, so I’m signing off!

Nite all.
