Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

A New Week

Awake at 7am.

Out of bed at 10am.

BGWLBH was doing the ironing, so before Harley play, I made her a smoothie with frozen fresh pineapple and mango, fresh passionfruit from the garden and fresh mandarins from a friend’s garden + coconut water and a light sprinkle of sea salt.

I actually made enough for all three of us.

Harley play, watered the garden and then brought the clothes rack out from the spare bedroom with the pre-loved clothes that I’ll be selling at the markets this weekend.

BGWLBH added her clothes and we priced them all accordingly.

I needed to finish another bracelet and do a stocktake of the jewellery that I’ll try to sell at both the local markets this weekend AND the art & craft expo the following weekend.

I have 30 pairs of earrings and 18 bracelets. Six pieces of art.

For the local markets, I still have lots of old shop stock to sell too.

I made a late lunch and sat down to watch the second half of the movie “Little Women” and one of my quiz shows.

Dinner was chicken and vegetable stir fry with mashed potato, followed by apple strudel and custard.

Farmer Wants a Wife interrupted by a 40 minute phone call with No 1 Son. He is well and had some exciting news about a new job.

Now it’s 11pm already! Sleep time for me.

Nite all.
