Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Small Group

There were only three of us, including the teacher, at meditation this morning.

It turned out to be a great morning where we shared lots of personal information and provided loving support for each other.

The three of us have been attending meditation together for seven years, and even though it’s the only time we spend together, through these classes, we know of each other’s trials and tribulations and struggles. We each are a safe space for other and we feel comfortable talking about such things.

The class ended with long, warm hugs.

🥰

The Gypsy and I had 90 minutes together afterwards, until the cool breeze sent us packing to our respective homes to get cozy.

I did a ‘junk food’ shop before heading home.

The afternoon was spent with Adoring Husband in front of the TV.

I cooked chicken scallopini with stir fried vegetables for dinner which received rave reviews.

We played trivia.

Farmer Wants a Wife.

Now it’s time to sleep.

Short Solo Time.

Plane Crash in Brazil

These doctors were meeting to discuss their experiences with “turbo cancers” among the vaccinated - in particular, the Covid vaccinated.

I thought today was going to be a perfectly peaceful solo day for me.

I expected to be alone from 7.30am until about 2.30pm.

Unfortunately, my solo time ended just after 11.30am.

🫤

I baked apple and cinnamon muffins, adding extra green apple to the mix. I got to eat two of them fresh out of the oven. They were slightly crisp around the top edges and soft, fluffy and apple-y in the middle.

Absolutely divine.

Harley and I had a couple of big play times.

I watched some Jet Lag on YouTube.

I received three phone calls from Adoring Husband who was in town waiting while the car was being serviced and had the rear brakes replaced.

Nice and easy home made hamburgers for dinner.

We played trivia.

Farmer Wants a Wife.

Now it’s time to sleep so that I can get up early for meditation.

Rested and Ready

Another late start to the day, followed by Harley play, a cooked crepe breakfast and some more “Jet Lag” on YouTube, followed by football x 3 games.

Terrible footy tipping week, but nobody did well, so I’m not bothered.

I cooked ‘Orange Glazed Chicken’ with ‘Baked Sweet Potato stuffed with onion, capsicum, mushroom, pine nuts and goats cheese’ with ‘baked potato in their jackets with sour cream’, with green beans.

It went down very well and I received high praise.

That was my Sunday.

No book writing, but both Adoring Husband and BGWLBH will be out tomorrow so I’ll have the day by myself and I can write to my heart’s content.

AH has to put the car in for a full service and BGWLBH has an appointment at the nail salon and other errands to run.

On that note…

Simple Saturday

It was a quiet Saturday.

Adoring Husband had his usual "mate date" this morning - coffee with the boys.

I found a Netflix Series called "Four Seasons" which I loved and watched the whole first season before the football started.

"Fend for yourself" night meant that all I needed to do was cook my 2 pork sausages, make a tomato and onion gravy and reheat some mashed potatoes. It was delicious and I ate the whole lot!

My footy tips are not going well, but then, nobody else's are either so I'm still on top of the ladder.

I think that I'll set tomorrow aside to do some more writing because my book has been at a standstill for a week now.

That's the long and short of my day.

Go-Jo – Milkshake Man (LIVE) | Australia 🇦🇺 | Second Semi-Final | Eurovi...

Apparently, this was the best that Australia could come up with for Eurovision. I’d put Milkshake Man in the same category as Raygun - an embarrassment to the nation.

Today was a pretty slow one for me. Although I was awake at 7am, it was after 9am when I decided to greet the day.

Harley and I played.

Afterwards, I chopped vegetables to boil for Harley’s food packs, baked banana bread and made the marinade for tonight’s chicken.

Adoring Husband wanted to watch a movie so I chose “Some Kind of Wonderful” which AH has never seen. He still hasn’t seen it because he fell asleep in his chair haha.

It was nice to not have to cook dinner tonight.

I was very annoyed to discover, too late, that Lomax was back playing for Parramatta tonight. I’d have tipped Parramatta to defeat Newcastle if I’d known this important detail. Needless to say, I got the first tip wrong for the weekend.

It has been a bit rainy today and the temperature nice and mild. We haven’t needed the air conditioner for about 3 weeks now. There has been a lovely cool breeze blowing from the south through our front windows but I’ve still used my pedestal fan every night.

Good sleeping weather.

Speaking of sleep …

Nice Day For It

BGWLBH and I had a very spontaneous trip into The Bay today.

Adoring Husband went to golf with his brand new putter.

Harley stayed at home with a big chewable bone.

I did the curried mince pastries again for dinner - by request.

I avoided watching the women’s state of origin game where the blues annihilated the maroons.

The new season of The Great Pottery Throwdown began tonight.

Already, it’s 10.30pm and I need to sleep.

More of Nothing

I was awake at 7am but didn't rise until 9am.

Harley play.

Did my "Water" pic for 52Frames ...

A late breakfast.

Watched a couple of recorded shows on TV with Adoring Husband.

Had a 'time out' to just 'be' in my bedroom for about 30 minutes.

Crumbed some chicken and made coleslaw and garden salad for dinner.

Played trivia.

Watched some telly.

It's been raining tonight.

Now I need to sleep.

Just Another Tuesday

For some reason, I was awake at 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep.

It worked to my advantage because I had meditation and had to go to the ATM to withdraw money before the class so, for a change, I was early.

But right now, I am very tired.

Meditation was great and I had 90 mins with The Gypsy afterwards.

I arrived home just in time to watch an old movie with Adoring Husband. “An American in Paris” with Gene Kelly and Leslie Caron. They don’t make them like that anymore.

I did curried mince pastry parcels for dinner.

It’s time for me to sleep now.
