My day began at Stupid O'clock.
I could have slept until my alarm went off. I had set it for 4.50am.
Adoring Husband decided that 4.25am was a much better time for me to wake up and made sure there was enough noise and enough light happening in the room for me to wake up 25 minutes before necessary.
The Motivator arrived right on time and all of us sat in our sleepy brain blurs all the way to Howard.
I hugged AH goodbye and we left him at the station and headed home.
We made easy conversation and were home before 6am.
I rode to the shop to get coffee and then visited the boys at the Seat of Knowledge for a short while.
I returned home, sat on the couch and watched the movie "Crazy Rich Asians"
I loved it!
Money and power. Abundance. Female empowerment. Acceptance. Breaking traditions. Lots of strong female characters and if they're not strong in the beginning, they certainly are by the end.
I watched it twice.
At 10am, I rode to the Post Office and then to The Happy Abode, where I stayed, unpacking the new stock while The Motivator took care of the very busy morning of customers. I hadn't finished, but I left to ride home at 1.30pm. I'll finish it off in the morning.
The Paint Pourer was setting up the back room in preparation for her demonstration on Thursday.
I spent the afternoon lying in bed watching Netflix - The Ranch - when suddenly it was dark and Adoring Husband was tapping on the garage door to get in! I had planned on going for a night swim, but that didn't happen.
We had cheese and tomato toasties for dinner - AH had already eaten.
Now it's almost 11.30pm and I need to be at work early, so I'd best get some sleep.
Nite all.
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
