Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

A Rare Visit

 🐾 POEM OF A DOG

I'm the one who's always waiting for you.

Your car has a special sound that I have imprinted on my senses, I can recognize it in a thousand.

Your steps have a magic bell.

Your voice is music to my ears.

If I see your joy, it makes me happy!.

Your scent is the best.

Your presence moves my senses.

Your waking up wakes me up

I contemplate you sleeping and for me you are my God, I am happy watching your sleep.

Your look is a ray of light.

Your hands upon me, hold the lightness of peace and the sublime display of infinite love.

When you leave, I feel a huge void in my heart.

I keep waiting for you again and again.

I am the one who will wait for you all your life today, tomorrow and forever:

I am your dog.

I had a productive day.

Harley play.

A load of washing.

The bathroom and toilet got a ‘thorough’ cleaning.

I dusted.

I made a small platter.

I showered and washed my hair.

I did a tiny bit of art while I waited for my visitor.

I enjoyed 2.5 hours with my visitor, Sue V, who, until 8 months ago, owned our local supermarket and has now moved south.

It was such a lovely visit with lots of giggles. We really miss our chats.

At 4.30pm we hugged goodbye.

I played with Harley again and made a quick spaghetti bolognese for dinner.

Now it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
