Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Love a Rainy Night

As I lay here, snuggled in between my two body pillows and surrounded by six pillows and a stuffed fluffy sloth, I can hear the rain falling gently on the roof and I’m feeling very relaxed.

The French Open tennis is playing on the TV, Harley is asleep on the floor in his pen and the world is quiet.

I was up at 6am to put the safety cones out for Adoring Husband, at the shop footpath… because he was still away at golf.

When I returned home and climbed back into bed it was still warm from my residual body heat, and I stayed there until 7.30am.

I had a shower before giving Harley some playtime and then got ready for another day in The Bay.

Adoring Husband was supposed to visit Mon Repos before coming home from his golf trip, but he decided against it and came home early. He was home at 9am, just as BGWLBH and I arrived in The Bay.

We had breakfast at Holistic Healing Haven and drove to Tinkerbell’s to pick up my layby…

It’s green jade with a peridot and about the size of my little finger.

Then it was our usual haunts, some groceries, fruit and veg, seafood, newsagent blah blah blah.

We arrived home before 2pm so I got to catch up on AH’s golf stories, unpacked the grocery bags, watched my quiz shows, cooked zucchini slice and served it with chips and salad for dinner, played trivia and watched the Aussie, De Minaur, get beaten by Bublik in the French Open.

In the middle of that match, Number One Son called and suggested that he come visit us next month! Woot! Woot! It’s been 7 years since he was here. Can’t wait! AH was in bed by then, so he doesn’t even know yet. BGWLBH will be happy too.

Best clear out the back bedroom in preparation haha.

We’ve had three big days in The Bay and I think I’m getting too old for that kind of nonsense so I need to sleep now.

Nite all.
