Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Bingeworthy Sunday

I watched golf until about 2am, so I wasn’t ready to greet the day until well after 9am.

Harley and I played until after 10am.

Adoring Husband was off to work mowing for about 2 hours.

I binge watched a stack of episodes of “Say Yes to the Dress” until the football started.

I tipped all correctly except one.

I cooked chicken and vegetable soup for BGWLBH and served it with garlic bread. Hanaine chicken for AH and I. It’s full of coriander, which BGWLBH detests, hence the chicken soup for her.

We’ve been watching golf until bed time and I’m sitting up in bed watching golf now. It’s the final round of the Open, but the only Aussie has dropped right out of contention. The leaders haven’t even teed off yet and I’m ready to sleep, so I guess I’ll be falling asleep to the sound of clubs hitting balls!

I’ll find out who wins tomorrow.

Nite all.
