Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Recovery Time

The US Open tennis grand slam is over for another year.

I woke at 5am on Monday to watch the men’s final between Alcaraz and Sinner. I tipped Alcaraz and he won in four sets which promoted him to number one in the world and demoted Sinner to number two.

Now, I need a week to recover from my lack of sleep over the last two weeks!

The rest of the day, I did some washing, played with Harley, made spaghetti bolognese with sauce from the freezer and watched an old movie called “Let’s be Happy” starring Vera Ellen and Tony Martin and made in 1957. I loved it.

I went to bed early and slept from 10.30pm - 6.25am.

Today was meditation day so I rode my trike there, arrived on time and enjoyed 90 mins of class.

Afterwards, I’d planned an hour chat with The Gypsy, but a last minute text from BGWLBH offering a trip to town to work on my considerable list, changed my plan.

We spent 3 hours in town still not completing everything on my list, however, tomorrow, we are heading back into town for a Japanese Express Head Spa. That’s 45 mins of head, neck and décolletage massage with a hydrating face mask and hair soak.

Sounds divine.

Tonight’s dinner was chicken scallopini with mash and greens.

It’s now after 11pm and time for sleep.

Nite all.
