My day started at 'The Seat of Knowledge' with my boys, which is my favourite way to start the day. Laughing and joking and constantly making fun of each other. The youngest one here is 68 yrs of age.
While we were all having a laugh, a friend of mine poked his nose in to say hello, and I must say he was looking decidedly handsome today! I LIKE TURTLES :O)
I decided to pedal around town to look for photographic opportunities. I stopped at this beautiful flowering tree and while I was snapping away, a little visitor popped in the frame! What a pleasant surprise!
I stopped and talked to some tourists for a little while and the gentleman who was the same age as my Dad would have been, had he lived, had also spent time in New Guinea at the same time that Dad was there. We didn't find a connection but had an interesting chat!
I pedalled past the tree where the Tawny Frog Mouths often sit and there were three little ones on a branch. They aren't the same ones I photographed last year because they are too small, but one of them opened his eyes and looked down at me while I was snapping away.
Beneath the tree, gleaming in the sunlight was a beautiful spider web and if you look closely, you can see the spider sitting in the centre.
There, hanging in the tree amid the green foliage was a perfect golden heart! Lots of love from Mother Nature :o)
I then bumped into the lovely Aussie H and invited her to dinner tonight.
This afternoon I've been invited to a friend's house for drinks, which suits me fine while Adoring Husband is obsessively building the back shed.
It's been a most satisfying morning journey and there is still another half of the day to enjoy!
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
