Well here I am signing in for a brief update.
For the first time ever, my little Chicklet has fallen asleep beside me in my bed!
We had tried this two times on previous visits, but after only a few minutes, she scrambled back to Mama's bed feeling a bit stressed.
Tonight, we both lay down together and closed our eyes listening to one of those voice overs where the lady's soft voice lulls you to sleep. We had tried that once before without success, but tonight, it worked like a charm .. almost sent ME to sleep too!
So here she is (photo taken with my phone), almost 3 hours later, fast asleep beside me ...
She is a very restless sleeper and flails her arms about regularly, so I suspect I could wake up tomorrow morning quite battered and bruised!
Nite all.
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
