Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Dressy

I received a parcel in the mail today.

A parcel that I forgot I ordered.

It was a dress!

Now I possess 2 dresses.

I have owned, in my adult life, including my 2 wedding dresses, a total of eleven dresses.

Seven of them in the last ten years.

One to walk Vegan Chickie down the aisle at her wedding. One to walk Best Cousin in the World down the aisle at her wedding. A Melbourne Cup dress. A beach party dress. These two new dresses and my wedding dress ... which technically was a skirt so it probably doesnt count.

I wore my new dress tonight and felt very comfortable. I think I’ll wear it to work tomorrow.

It was a slow but steady day at the shop and Adoring Husband picked me up right on 3pm.

I made myself presentable for the club, had a small win on the pokies and a small win on the Keno, no win in the raffle, was pleasantly surprised by the arrival of The Brains Trust and enjoyed a fun evening with the girls.

AH had dinner prepared when I arrived home and now I am ready for bed.

The Motivator is still feeling and sounding very poorly. Big hugs and love to her for a speedy recovery.

Nite all.
