Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Missed Again

I just wasn’t in the mood for blogging on Wednesday night.

So I didn’t!

Wednesday was a busy day with early morning meditation, followed by coffee with all the meditation ladies, a great chat with The Gypsy and The Motivator and then a trip into The Bay with Adoring Husband.

We lunched together and shopped together and arrived home just before 4pm which gave me just enough time for a swim and preparing an early dinner so that we could attend the monthly trivia night.

Out of 16 teams, we came 8th which was better than the previous month when we came second last!

It doesn’t matter because it’s always great to be part of the fun with The Brains Trust and The Garden Guru.

It was a late night to bed and unfortunately an earlier rise than expected when AH hurt his back while working in the garden and needed help to get through the back door and into the bedroom.

I got him to have a shower to relax the muscles.

I had to help him put on his swimmers and then assisted him to the pool area so that he could get into the water and take pressure off the spine, which is where he stayed for over an hour.

I prepared lunch and he ate it in the pool.

Eventually, he had to get out and it was a slow and painful process to get him to the loo and then to the couch where he voluntarily collapsed for a couple of hours.

The next part of the process was getting him to the bed.

More pain as he moved inch by inch to the bedroom.

At this point, The Motivator arrived with her TENS machine. What a life saver!

He is still in pain and still in bed. It looks like I’ll be working for him tomorrow morning and it might be at least a few days before he’s back in action 😳

Meanwhile, we have a new addition to our Christmas merriment on the front lawn ...

All in honour of Chicklet, whose favourite creature is the dragon!

Now I’m off to bed so that I can get up early to work.

Nite all.
