Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Discontented Me

I tried the new hairdresser in town today.

It has been exactly one year to the day since my last haircut!

I am not happy with the result and I won’t return.

I asked for 10cm off, but she cut almost 20cm. It’s uneven - the left front is about 1cm (or more) shorter than the right front.

She layered it so that it curls up instead of under. She partly blow dried it, which just left it full and fuzzy.

BGWLBH was kind enough to straighten it for me which added about 2cm to the length, but the layering is now so uneven and ugly.

😩🫣🤬

I am grateful that she only charged me $34 for shampoo, condition, cut and partial blow dry … however, all of that took less than 25 mins.

I feel a bit confused and almost like she did it on purpose. She didn’t even use a mirror to show me the back and seemed to shuffle me out the door very quickly.

What makes all of that very strange, is that when I made the appointment, she gave me the options of 1pm or 3pm so that she could “give me quality time and give me the full experience.”

That is not what I received.

I don’t get it.

Luckily I had been to meditation this morning.

Dinner was a mixed bag tonight. Adoring Husband got leftover hamburger patties with chips and salad. BGWLBH got chips with curly salad and dressing. I had a leftover pork sausage.

I was certain that it was Wednesday and I was preparing for State of Origin! Only 24 hours too early haha.

Now I’m in bed feeling sorry for myself and my crappy haircut.

Time to sleep.

Nite all.
