Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

It’s All Done

Every person in our footy tipping comp picked exactly the same teams to win in every game.

The State of Origin game will determine the best winner for this week.

On Saturday, after Harley play, I gave the fridge a complete clean out. My job was accompanied with ridiculous comments from my team mates, wondering why I was motivated to complete this chore.

That just annoyed me.

When I finished, I made myself a roast pork and cranberry sauce toasted sour dough sandwich and a cup of tea.

By then, it was almost lunch time because I didn’t get out of bed until 9am.

I’m sure I watched a Netflix movie but I don’t remember.

At 3pm I received a text from The Gypsy, suggesting a zoom meeting, so I took Harley out for a quick play and then settled in my room for our catch up.

It was 6pm when we finished!

I crumbed my prawns and cooked them in time to watch the 2nd football game of the day.

Late last night I watched “27 Dresses” followed by “The Sun is also a Star”, which didn’t finish until 2am. I really loved that 2nd movie.

I couldn’t drag myself out of bed until 10am today!

Harley play, brunch and a NZ movie called “Red, White and Brass” which was a bit of fun. We finished the Aust series “The Survivors” and then watched the football.

For dinner I fried up some chicken, made potato chips and served it with curls of carrot, beetroot and cucumber, shredded lettuce, tomato wedges, snow peas cut into strips, air fried chickpeas, red onion, goats cheese and dressing.

BGWLBH loved it. Adoring Husband did NOT.

Now I’m off to sleep.

Nite all.
