Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

A Day to Regenerate

I was feeling rather poorly this morning, so I chose to forego meditation.

I also chose to spend the entire day in bed.

Thankfully, it rained all day, so Harley couldn’t go out to play and I wasn’t feeling guilty for not playing with him.

Between naps, I wrote more of my book, journaled, watched MAFS UK, read my tarot cards and pulled a Journey card and watched my quiz shows.

The storms that hit last night were quite fierce, but we were grateful that there was no damage.

After the storm, at midnight, I thought to check the front porch for a parcel I’ve been expecting. Of course it was there and completely drenched! It was a thick cardboard box, so by the time I found it, the water hadn’t yet reached the contents inside. If I’d left it til morning, it might have been a different story!

Right now … there is another storm above us and it is raining so heavily that I’ve had to increase the volume on the TV from 6 up to 17.

I’m feeling quite weary from my day in bed, so I think it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
