Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Happy Hump Day

The rain and storms finally stopped.

There was much rolling thunder for most of the night and although we only received 25mm over 24 hours, it felt like way more than that.

The pool was certainly filled to the brim!

Tonight we have a break from crappy weather, but on Friday, it starts all over again and will go on into the weekend, so we need to be prepared. I saw predictions of possible tornado activity - I certainly hope that doesn’t come to fruition, especially here in our town.

I was a ‘little bit’ productive today.

Two loads of washing plus some hand washing, cleared out some old fruit and vegetables from the fridge, packed chopped fruit into bags to freeze for smoothies, played with Harley twice and cooked a big meal in the kitchen.

Chicken thighs in lemon sauce. Cauliflower Au Gratin. Mixed roasted vegetables (onion, carrot, sweet potato, potato, cherry tomatoes all dusted in paprika, Italian seasoning, Celtic sea salt, black pepper and garlic). Asparagus and green beans.

It was well received.

Adoring Husband and I wanted to watch some cricket tonight but both the T20 AND the ODI were rain delayed and possibly cancelled (I haven’t checked).

Tomorrow I have a birthday lunch, so I think it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
