Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Doubled Down

Today was a fat failure because my old workmate got her wires crossed about the day we were supposed to catch up, thinking it was NEXT Thursday we were doing it. Today, she was in Bundaberg so couldn’t even get to me if she tried.

Let’s try that again next week!

This meant that I had a full day to fill while BGWLBH worked.

It was a long day and after two full days in the bay, I’m exhausted! I need a rest period.

I did an Office Works visit. Surprisingly, I only bought one journal from there.

Considering the amount of time I had and the number of places that I visited, I spent very little money!

We had to stop at the post office to pick up a parcel on the way home, so we didn’t pull into the driveway until well after 3.30pm.

BGWLBH immediately ate her leftover lunch and retreated to her room for the evening.

I took chicken pot pies out of the freezer and popped them in the oven for Adoring Husband who had been playing golf for the day. I reheated a couple of snags for myself and lay on my bed for the rest of the evening.

It’s already 10.15pm and I need to sleep NOW.

Nite all.
