Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Happy Birthday Vegan Chickie

Even though I'm going to visit Chicklet and Vegan Chickie tomorrow, I wanted to see her for her birthday today ... as I told her, this may be the last birthday I get to spend with her for  a while, because they plan on moving as soon as they can afford it!

So we drove into The Bay and went to the Cheesecake Shop to get a Black Forest Cake, because that is one of Vegan Chickie's favourites and then we met for coffee at one of the restaurants downstairs from their home.

It was a short visit, only an hour, but it was important, for me, to spend some time with Vegan Chickie on her special day.

I even got to cuddle Chicklet for a little while, until she decided to go off and explore the area, with the Bare-chested Chef hot on her heels.

Happy Birthday Mumma
Look at my amazing eyes!
Happy Birthday Vegan Chickie!!
After the visit, we drove to the Butcher where Adoring Husband had won a voucher, so that we could spend it before it expired and then came home.

It was raining ... again.

Got an early start tomorrow, so ... Happy Birthday Vegan Chickie ... Olive Juice xx

Nite all.
