Well! What a turn around!
Today has been a hive of activity around our house.
Hammers, drills, saws and various other tools and pieces of machinery making all sorts of loud noises all day.
We've had the solar hot water guys fixing our solar panels.
We've had a builder repair the shed in the back yard.
We've had the electrician doing enough work to give us a couple of power points and some working lights.
We've had another builder in the garage all day stripping everything ready for the big rebuild.
We've had the roller door man measuring up for the new and improved roller door for the garage.
This afternoon, we got a call to say that the trusses will be delivered tomorrow - a week earlier than expected.
Our builder even gave Adoring Husband a lift into The Bay to pick up the car from the panel beaters. It's all shiny and sparkly and new again - except for one window that will be fixed some time in the very near future.
So things are looking pretty good in our household and everything is moving along nicely.
Today I am grateful for the obvious ... we are a little bit closer to having our lives back to normal!
Nite all.
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
