Even though the day started out very rainy, I've had a lovely solitary day in Melbourne.
I've walked a lot (without being lost) and I window shopped. Yes you read that correctly.
'Window shopped'
Not one single solitary thing was bought, except for coffee and food.
I'm considering visiting the casino this evening. I did go there briefly after lunch, but I was feeling overwhelmed by the city and I also felt a little tired, so I've spent the afternoon in my apartment, which has been very quiet and very calming and very relaxing.
My shuttle bus is booked for tomorrow morning and unfortunately the 7am bus was full, so I'm on the earlier 6am shuttle. That will give me plenty of time to play with once I'm at the airport, so I'm ok with that. A leisurely breakfast might be in order.
I'm looking forward to catching up with Rebel Mardi and The Lifesaver tomorrow. It's been FOREVER!!
I'm also looking forward to getting home and sleeping in my own bed.
It's 7.30pm and I'm feeling a bit peckish. I didn't think I would want dinner after a decent lunch, but my tummy tells me otherwise.
I think I will steer clear of the casino and order in .. apparently there are restaurants nearby that deliver!
Have a happy hump day!
Nite all.
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
