Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Well Rested

No art today.

After I played with Harley, I made myself a bacon and egg sandwich, a cup of tea and I returned to bed, where I watched a series of “Portrait Artist of the Year”.

It’s on my bucket list to learn how to paint a portrait. I wouldn’t even know where to start.

I stayed in bed until 2.30pm.

I played with Harley again and crumbed some chicken thighs, made potato salad, coleslaw and a garden salad for dinner, which we ate early.

Afterwards we played trivia on the smart TV via YouTube.

Tomorrow I’m off to a Women’s Healing Retreat at Dallarnil so I had to prepare a vegetarian plate to take with me.

I decided on rice paper rolls filled with carrot, cucumber, snow peas, apple, capsicum, radish, spring onions, avocado, vermicelli noodles and I made a peanut dipping sauce and a spicy honey soy dressing to choose from.

I was up until 10.30pm doing that!

Now it’s 11.30pm so I’d best get some sleep!

Oh and Happy birthday to Lady Lynn and my sister Squirt for today (25th)! I hope both of your days were memorable in all good ways.

Nite all.
