Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

To Market

BGWLBH and I left reasonably early this morning for the markets.

We needed lots of fruit and vegetables, so Urangan Market was our ‘go to’ destination. We wanted to beat the crowds but there were no parking spaces close by so we had to walk a fair distance to reach the stalls.

We purchased enough goodies to fill two bags and I got some GF donuts and a knitted poncho type thing that I thought would be great for our whale watching trips in Winter.

BGWLBH walked to the car while I sat with our heavy shopping and she drove to pick me and our shopping up, which was great for me!

We had planned on having breakfast at Salt Cafe but it was very busy so we selected The Spotted Goat instead. I chose a cold pressed juice for breakfast - pineapple, mango, passionfruit and coconut water. BGWLBH had her usual poached eggs and bacon with a pot of tea.

There were a few showers to contend with, especially on the drive home …

The butcher, supermarket and Su Jus were also on our itinerary.

It was about 1.30pm when we arrived home and because I didn’t get a lot of sleep last night, I was feeling pretty tired.

AH unpacked all the food and I got changed and took Harley out for a play before making myself comfy on the couch.

I started to watch the original version of Father of the Bride with Spencer Tracey and Elizabeth Taylor and as much as I was enjoying it, I fell asleep part way through it.

In between three footy matches, I made honey garlic chicken with fried rice for dinner.

Now it’s time to sleep.

Nite all.
