Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Day is Done

12 Short Notes to Read on the Days You Feel Like Giving Up 🥰

1. This feeling is temporary, but your strength is permanent.

2. You have survived every single hard day that came before this one.

3. It is okay to rest, not to quit. Pause and breathe.

4. The world is a better place with you in it, even if you can't feel it today.

5. Your comeback will always be stronger than your setback.

6. Be proud of how far you've come, especially on the days it feels like you're going backward.

7. This storm will pass. Your roots are deeper than you know.

8. You are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time.

9. You are not a failure for feeling weak; you are human.

10. Your only job today is to get through it. That is enough.

11. The smallest step forward is still a step forward.

12. The sun will rise again tomorrow, and so will you.

I woke surprisingly early this morning.

5.30am!

Normally, I could roll over and fall asleep for another couple of hours, but there was no way that was going to happen this morning.

So I watched some more Gaia videos on Quantum Science until 7.30am.

That’s heavy going for so early in the day and my brain was worn out before I got out of bed!

I had a “to do” list which included cleaning the glass sliding doors, my washing and changing my bedding, none of which got touched.

Nothing got done. I caught up on my favourite TV shows. Talkin’ Bout Your Generation, The Block, MKR.

I napped in the afternoon.

I cooked a big pan of roast vegetables (potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrot, capsicum, zucchini, onion, cherry tomatoes, garlic cloves) with garlic buttered asparagus and green beans accompanied by crumbed chicken and/or pork sausages in home made gravy.

We played trivia.

Now I need to sleep because I’m off to morning tea with the art girls in the morning.

Nite all.
