Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Marathon in the Kitchen

I spent enough money at our local shops today, to pay their staff wages for a week!

I came home laden with shopping bags overflowing with meat, vegetables, fruit, coconut oil, lemons and so much more!

Even though Adoring Husband told me not to, I spent the day in the kitchen cooking, preparing a eighteen meals to cover most of the 22 days that I will be absent.

I made 3 meals of chicken spinach parsee, 3 of beef masala, 3 of Hainan chicken, 3 of spaghetti bolognese sauce, 2 of sausages and onion gravy and 3 of lamb shanks with tomato and red wine sauce.

THEN I made lamb cutlets with salad for dinner!

I cleared the fridge and cleaned the kitchen - more than once!

Needless to say, I feel like a high achiever!

Now I have two days to get myself organised. I need a hair appointment and a pedicure.

I still need to make my 'to do' list! Ugh.

I'll worry about it tomorrow. It's almost midnight.

Nite all.
