Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Sleepless in the Heads

Another sleepless night for me.

At 3am I was sitting up in bed paying shop bills - the last bills I’ll ever pay for my happy place.

It was 7.15am when I finally slept and 11am when I woke up.

I decided to go for a swim, soak up some sunshine, get some fresh air and be active … which hopefully will help me sleep tonight!

I swam 20 laps and floated around on the pool chair for a while. The water was a little chilly but the sun was warm and delicious.

Adoring Husband and I drove to the post office to pick up my parcel, which I still haven’t opened.

At home I hung out some washing, put another load in and folded the clean dry stuff that I’d removed from the line.

AH made my anti-inflamitea and I prepared cauliflower au gratin with duck for dinner. It was delicious.

NOW I’m feeling weary and the yawns are coming thick and fast.

So … nite all.
