Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Winning!

Code designated for the unvaccinated  click on the link to see how it’s becoming reminiscent of WWII. We are being tagged … why?

Congratulations to Novak Djokovic for winning the Australian Open for the tenth time and it being his 22nd Grand Slam win overall. Also taking the Number 1 spot again.

He was hounded by the media. Criticised relentlessly. Judged unfairly every single day. Played every match under incredible pressure but his mental strength and focus saw him through to the end and that says a lot about the man he is.

Against all odds, he was successful.

He is my hero and not just on the tennis court.

Today I did some art. Two pieces because I had to fill in time while the first one was drying. Obviously, neither of them are finished yet, both are works in progress, so we’ll see how they go in the coming days …

Even though it was frustrating that some of my paints are so old that they have ‘turned’, it was still very therapeutic.

We swam in the pool with Harley and played games with him.

Adoring Husband and I watched a couple of movies. BGWLBH and I watched two episodes of “Miracle Workers” on Stan.

I cooked a whole chicken with baked vegetables and gravy - the usual Sunday tradition now that BGWLBH is living here.

It’s after 11pm. Best get some sleep.

Nite all.
