Just for a giggle ...
Day Nine - Someone You Love
... and because I can ...
Had a nice long phone call from Number One Son today. He moved to Townsville to start his new job just over a week ago and moves into his new apartment next week.
There are only eleven days til Christmas and even though our shopping is done, we still have so much to do!
Wrapping, packaging, addressing and mailing all the gifts that have to go to friends and family who won't be at our house for Christmas. We are running short of time!
Writing up the Christmas cards, addressing the envelopes and mailing them BEFORE Christmas!
Planning the Christmas lunch menu, shopping for it and doing any early preparations.
Christmas drinks at various friend's houses leading up to Christmas.
Finishing the last of the Christmas jewellery orders.
... and last but not least, finishing Chicklet's gift.
So much to do, so little time!
Not much happened with the camera this morning. I did attempt to photograph a magpie attacking a goanna, but it was in bad light and I couldn't get the exposure right. The ones that were exposed ok, were too blurred to use. Such a shame because they could have been great.
I spent the afternoon baking banana and walnut cakes. One batch of muffin-sized cakes for Adoring Husband and a ring cake for the boys at The Seat of Knowledge, which I will deliver tomorrow.
More beauty sleep required ...
Nite all.
I'm lazy and selfish and spend too much time on the internet. I love to be creative with photography and jewellery and sketching with pencil and pastels. I'm happier now than I have ever been and I love everything about my life ... where I live, my home, my fantastic grown up children, my lifestyle, my friends, my dogs and last but not least my wonderful adoring husband. Life is good!
Nice to see you!
Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.
Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.
Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**
Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!
So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!
Welcome to my dilemna!!
