Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

Welcome to my dilemna!!

Worth Doing

I had a restless night and dragged myself out of bed at 10am.

I made breakfast and joined BGWLBH under the Bali hut.

The sky was a little overcast and the temperature quite cool so BGWLBH was wrapped in a light blanket. Even I felt a little on the cool side - which is very unusual for me!

After a little while we came inside to clean the fridge but first I made a juice of orange, apple, pineapple, passion fruit, mango and banana. Too many fruits. Leave out the banana next time.

We have an abundance of fruit at our fingertips and this doesn’t include the berries and melon that are stored in the fridge …

It took the two of us almost an hour to empty the fridge, clean it, toss the bad food, empty old containers and jars and stack the dishwasher.

I’ve been a bit slack with the fridge lately, but it’s sparkling clean now.

My bedroom plantation shutters received a good clean after that. The windows need doing too so they are on my ‘to do’ list.

Here’s the pic of my bedroom with the tapestry above the bed …

I’ve been sorting through my diaries, journals and books in my bedroom - they are out of control and I need a book case in the room. You can see just a few of the books on both bedside tables. Maybe I should just fill the bed head with all the books!! That way they will always be at my fingertips!

Tonight’s dinner was chicken and all vegetables out of our garden - broccoli, snow peas and potato. The potato was so creamy and delicious.

We played a bit of trivia together.

Now I’m in bed with a very chilly breeze coming through the bedroom windows. Good snuggle under the covers weather.

Tomorrow I have a meeting with The Gypsy which I’m really looking forward to.

For now, it’s nite all.
