Nice to see you!

Three major events occurred for me last year (2010), all in the space of about 2 weeks. I turned 50. The following day I got married. Two weeks later, my oldest daughter became pregnant with her first child and my first grandchild.

Most middle-aged people will tell you that in their minds, they still feel 20 something. It's the same for me.

Wasn't it only yesterday that I was planning a night out with guys from the surf club? That gorgeous new perm. Flaired, cuffed denims and the red t-shirt with the off-the-shoulder frill. Corked platform wedgies. **sigh**

Suddenly I'm looking in the mirror and wondering how 30 years can flash by so damned quickly!

So here I am in cyberspace, sharing my genuine shock and horror with anyone who'll listen and maybe I'll even meet some other over 50s who find themselves in the same predicament!

For a Change

Usually, when I have a pedicure, I choose either ‘clear’ or ‘gold’ nail polish.

Today, just for a change, I chose this colour …

How weird is that? It’s almost gangrenous!

BGWLBH and I spent the entire day in The Bay.

We enjoyed another breakfast at Aquavue. It was even better than yesterday. This is us …

It took a couple of goes to find a nail salon that would take us and we had to fill three hours until our appointment.

Of course we shopped.

Clothes, games, DVDs, shoes (not me), jewellery (also, surprisingly, not me), banking, new phone charging cord and I tried on a LOT of tops. None of them took my fancy so no clothes came home with me.

By the time we arrived home - late this afternoon - we were tired and starving. We stopped at the butcher for some chicken and I made a delicious curry with rice and papadums for dinner.

We watched our TV shows - we love ‘Hunted’ and ‘Beauty and the Geek’ - and dragged our sorry butts to bed.

It’s almost 11pm and I have another early start tomorrow so it’s sleep time for me.
